August 2015 Starlooks LooksBook

Starlooks started the LooksBook as a way to introduce subscribers to up and coming trends. The LooksBook is only $12 a month, and includes 3 perfect size cosmetics, as well as 3 lifestyle gift cards to featured brands, and a booklet showing you the best way to use your new makeup.

This month's LooksBook theme was 'Resort' and features three items perfect for summer. It also included three gift cards. The gift cards are: $15 to Torrain (recycled bags with a global conscience), The Laboratory (clothing and jewelry) and $50 to Versa swimwear.

The first item is a water eyeshadow in the color Aqua. It's almost a crème eye shadow that looks like it could be amazing with the right skin tone. Unfortunately it just didn't work for me. I'll try it later on top of a white base and primer, but by itself, it just doesn't show up all that well.

The second item is a highlight/brush duo in the colors Ritz/Tropic. Ritz is a shimmery, almost gold color and Tropic is a beautiful coral, perfect for the end of Summer. Living in Ohio, I try to keep as much Summer around as possible, especially since it's supposed to get very cold, very soon. =(

The third item in this LooksBook was a gorgeous Coral lipstick in the shade 'Jet Set'. It matches the blush and is the cutest little lipstick that I've ever seen, and it's the perfect size for my clutch.

I have to admit, when I first saw this color, I didn't think that it would look all that great on me because it looked way too orange. I put it on anyway and decided that it was perfect. This was my first LooksBook and I'm very happy with 2 of the cosmetics. I'll play with the eye shadow more later, and I'm sure I will find a way to make it work.

Bose QuietControl 30 Noise Cancelling headphones

Several months ago, I was given the opportunity to review QuietControl 30 Noise Cancelling wireless headphones from Bose. I'd been searching for a new set of headphones for quite awhile and was thrilled to be chosen to try a brand new product. They're great and work wonderfully. They have a setting that allows you to decide how much of the outside noise that you want to block out. You can skip to the next song and pause, as well as make calls from the headset. You can wear the headphones around your neck, allowing you to be hands-free. I love how fast they charge, and how long one charge lasts. They come with different sized ear pieces that you can switch out so that they fit inside your ear comfortably, and include a nice travel case. It has a Bluetooth range of up to 33'. I wore these while on a phone call and taking the trash out. There was no static, I didn't lose the call and I didn't hear any traffic which helped me hear the call better. These retail for $29...

New Adventures!!

I was offered a temporary (and hopefully more permanent) position as a brand ambassador for a new site called Beautydem. This site is made for users to find inspiration, create sets featuring beauty products. When someone purchases a product from a set, the creator of said set makes a 5% commission from the sale. It's fun and easy and completely free to join. You can make as many or as few sets as you'd like. This is one that I made, featuring sweet perfumes that smell delicious. It features Prada's 'Candy', Jessica Simpson's 'Fancy' and a few others. http://beautydem.com/set/595 Join me on www.beautydem.com !!!!

September 2015 LooksBook!!!!

This month's Starlooks LooksBook theme was 'Revival'. The colors featured in this box were gorgeous. Dark enough for Fall but brighjt enough to keep you holding onto warm weather.. If you live somewhere cold (like me), you want to hold on to warm weather for as long as possible.   The first item in the LooksBook is Agave, which is an eye-shadow duo in a dark red and a green that look gorgeous when blended together. Unfortunately for me, I kind of have hooded eyes, so you can't really see the effect. But I tried my best!     The second product is Flora, which is a beautiful, dark green mascara. Now normally I would never wear a mascara that's anything but black, but I wore t...
