Cooler Can Monthly launched in June of 2014 and has quickly grown to a popular and successful business. The idea came from it's founder, Jon Marcher, while he was barbequing in the backyard of his home with his friend's dad who told him about a whole drawer devoted to koozies, and so the idea was born.
I contacted Jon about reviewing Cooler Can Monthly and he emailed me back saying it sounded like a great idea and he'd send me July's koozie along with several from the past.
I got this month's koozie which features the Virginville Hotel in Virginville, PA. I love that the Cooler Can Monthly site has info about the featured koozie instead of just sending them without a backstory. "The Virginville Hotel is the last remaining “public house” in a town that once had three such places where residents could eat, drink and be merry. Started in 1885, the establishment is located in a town with a unique, but quaint name. While the name might get laughs from outsiders and travelers, the hotel is a reflection of simpler times and you'll always be welcomed with open arms... unless you steal their street sign."
Tucked inside the monthly koozie was 2 cards. One telling me that my 'package was personally handled by Jon' and the other featuring a 15% off any of their prepaid subscriptions (3, 6 or 12 months). For those of you interested, the referral code is ForAFriend
I was also sent koozies from previous months, featuring the Strange Brew in Austin, TX, the 6740 in Whittier, CA and a koozie featuring Weiner, AR.
What do they put on these koozies you ask?
Well, they search for the most unique businesses in the country. Once the deal is done, Jon sets up a month that the business will be featured and starts production of the koozies. Subscribers will get that months koozie. Once the month is over, that koozie is 'retired' forever, and you can't get it anywhere else (unless you're the guy/girl that steals them from your friends).
How much is this awesome service?
It depends on what kind of koozie you want. Do you want a koozie for your bottle, can, or something that will fit both?
Option 1 is the foam koozie package that will fit cans, which starts at $4.50 for a month-to-month subscription. You can also do a 3 month, 6 month or 12 month prepay.
Option 2 is the neoprene package that will fit both cans and bottles. It starts at $7 a month and also has a 3 month, 6 month and a 12 month prepay, priced accordingly of course.
I think this is a great idea for a monthly subscription box and it comes with a great price. The service is aimed at college-age students and we all know college kids are broke. (yay student loan debt!) You can never have enough koozies and these are so much better than the boring ones that you get at stores.
If you want to subscribe, or want to check things out for yourself, the site is here: www.coolercanmonthly.com . If you get a prepaid subscription, use the code ForAFriend for 15% off. Know a place or company that should have their own koozies? Contact Cooler Can Monthly at info@coolercanmonthly.com
**I received these products complimentary of Cooler Can Monthly to review. All opinions are my own**
